Appy Fleet launched
Trak Global launches Appy Fleet to disrupt the traditional fleet telematics market, a smartphone-based, fully functional solution with low monthly subscription costs.
Carrot Insurance receives Prince Michael International Road Safety Award
Carrot Insurance received the International Road Safety Award from Prince Michael of Kent, in recognition of reducing accident frequency amongst young drivers by 42%.
Launch of Better Driver by Carrot
This new insurance product and mobile app was launched to challenge drivers who wanted an affordable insurance policy and the opportunity to prove their driving ability and behaviour. Aimed at the more experienced driver, this product enabled improved customer experience, including cash rewards for safe driving behaviour.
Carrot wins ‘Newcomer of the Year’ Award
Carrot collects ‘Best Newcomer’ at the Modern Claims Awards 2015 in recognition of how its telematics technology has improved the claims experience for its young drivers.
Moved to new Trak Global headquarters
After a period of rapid growth, Trak Global and Carrot moved to a new corporate headquarters, Global House.
Launch of Fiat 500 ‘Savvy Chic’ insurance scheme
Carrot partnered with FCA to launch a bundled proposition with inclusive insurance to help brand new drivers get into the UK’s most popular small car.
Trak 6 telematics device launched
All the features of T5 in a case that is easier to install within a vehicle. Has additional input/outputs to allow extension to other sensors. Crash detection and recording in high speed detail. Driver behaviour activity capture and assessment.
Carrot wins Best Customer Experience Award (Consumer)
One year on from its launch, Carrot scooped the ‘Best Customer Experience’ category at the Insurance Technology Awards 2013 against more established competition.
Launch of Autocar Start
Autocar Start was a revolutionary programme designed to give young drivers a safer start on the UK’s roads. A bundled proposition that combined driving tuition, a brand new smart car and Carrot Insurance.
Trak 5 telematics device launched
Smaller unit with all the features of T4, designed to appear as an original part of the vehicle once installed. Improved GPS chip set and crash g-force data recording.
Launch of Carrot Telematics-based insurance provider
Carrot Insurance entered the UK young driver insurance market with a view to incentivising its policyholders to stay safe through the provision of cash rewards.
Trak 4 telematics device launched
Based on the T1000 with improved tamper detection and large capacity battery. Capable of detecting the wires being cut, or the box being interfered with. In addition, capable of detecting if the vehicle had been involved in an incident.
Trak 2000 telematics device launched
Large capacity battery and IP67 rated case for outdoor use without having to be wired into a vehicle.
Trak 1000 telematics device launched
Designed for track & trace within the rental market. Had a revolutionary live tracking feature to watch second-by-second live updates. A simple 2-wire install, and would not drain the vehicles battery.
Trak Global Launched
Founded by Nick Corrie, Alan Cottrill and Kamran Mahmoudzadeh, with a vision of using telematics to ease the insurance claims process.
